Author and Illustrator Spotlight -M- |
Jim Murphy Jim Murphy didn't have much time or interest in reading as a youngster. That is, until a teacher mentioned a book that students were forbidden to read. Wanting to see what all the fuss was about, Murphy found the book and read it--and he has been reading ever since! His love and skill for research has lead him to writing outstanding non-fiction books and fiction stories based on fact, confirmed by the many awards he has received. The American Plaque and The Great Fire received Newbery Honor Book Awards. |
David McLimans McLimans received a 2007 Caldecott Honor award for his very first children's book, Gone Wild: An Endangered Animals Alphabet. The book is being advertised as being something for all ages, children and adults, alike. Texture and color are an important medium for the illustrator. I could not find a picture of McLimans and very little information about him Do spend some time looking at his website.. |
