Author and Illustrator Spotlight

Jim Murphy
Jim Murphy didn't have much time or interest in reading as a youngster. That is, until a teacher mentioned a book that students
were forbidden to read. Wanting to see what all the fuss was about, Murphy found the book and read it--and he has been reading
ever since! His love and skill for research has lead him to writing outstanding non-fiction books and fiction stories based on fact,
confirmed by the many awards he has received.
The American Plaque and The Great Fire received Newbery Honor Book
Awards.
David McLimans
McLimans received a 2007 Caldecott Honor award for his very first children's book, Gone Wild: An Endangered Animals
Alphabet
. The book is being advertised as being something for all ages, children and adults, alike. Texture and color are an
important medium for the illustrator. I could not find a picture of McLimans and very little information about him

Do spend some time looking at his website..
