Author and Illustrator Spotlight

Jadur Nelson, Illlustrator
If you didn't know this author before, I predict you will. His work is stunning. He is quoted saying he was drawing before he could
read or write--it's in his genes. His mother, an uncle and a teacher supported his passion, giving him support and opportunities
that have helped him along his way. When he's illustrating a book, he doesn't like text that is too descriptive because it confines
are illustration process. Nelson illustrated
Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom written by Carole
Boston Weatherford which received a 2007 Caldecott Honor award.

Nelson's website is wonderful.
